In build for iOS

Everyone gets a vote.
Nobody gets a veto.

Anyone puts an option on the table, the group votes, and a deadline decides. Not a person.

A chat cannot hold a decision.

It has no state. Nothing in it is ever decided, only mentioned. Opinions scroll past each other, the loudest one wins by attrition, and the person who cares most ends up doing all of it while everyone else feels vaguely guilty.

Decisions made

A poll in the thread does not fix it either. It closes, the result scrolls away, and somebody still has to go and turn it into a plan by hand.

So Truce holds the vote - and the clock closes it.

Every decision in a trip lives inside a time block: a slot on a day with a deadline on it. Options go in, votes go in, and when the deadline passes the block settles itself. Nobody has to declare a winner, and nobody gets to.

  1. Open

Anyone in the group puts an option on the table - pulled from Viator or Google Places, with its real price attached.

  2. Voting

Every member gets one vote on every option. Up or down, changeable until the window shuts, with an optional line saying why.

  3. Closing

The window has an end time, set when the block was made, counting down in front of everyone. Nobody can extend it to get the result they wanted.

  4. Locked

Highest score wins and the block leaves the ballot. The winner is on the itinerary before anyone has had to type it in.

Nobody pressed anything. The window ran out, the highest score won, and every phone in the group watched the same thing happen.

What makes it a vote

How the vote works, in full

Enforced in the database

One vote each

Not a convention - a uniqueness constraint on member and option. You cannot stack votes, and nobody holds two.

Nobody holds one

No casting vote

The organiser has no override, no veto and no tie-break power. They can set the rules of the window; they cannot decide inside it.

Every member

Anyone nominates

Putting something on the ballot is not an organiser privilege. A per-day cap keeps one enthusiast from flooding it.

Auto-lock

The deadline decides

When the window closes the winner locks - with the group watching, or on a cron five minutes later if nobody is looking.

Runoff, then chance

Ties resolve themselves

Three or more tied reopens as a 24-hour runoff between the leaders. A true two-way deadlock goes to a wheel spin the group watches.

Straight to the plan

The result is binding

A winner is not a recommendation somebody then has to action. It is on the shared itinerary, and the ledger is already expecting the cost.

And in a dead heat, nobody’s uncle decides.

A tie is where every other tool quietly hands the decision back to whoever is most senior in the group. Truce will not do that.

Three or more tied

The block reopens for 24 hours as a runoff between the leaders only. Round one’s votes are kept, so re-voting corrects the result rather than restarting it.

A genuine two-way deadlock

A wheel spins on screen and lands on one of them. It is a real coin flip - the outcome is drawn before the animation starts, and everyone watches the same one.

Nobody watching

If the deadline passes with every phone in a pocket, the server flips the same coin on the same odds. The result never depends on who happened to be looking.

A won vote is not a suggestion.

The reason the vote is worth taking seriously is that it does something the moment it lands. Nobody re-types the result anywhere.

It is on the itinerary

Winners land on a shared day-by-day plan alongside your flights, stays and anything added by hand, with clash detection so two things cannot be booked over each other. Export the lot to Apple or Google Calendar, or as a PDF.

And the money already knows

Whoever books it fronts the cost, and the split freezes at that moment - so someone joining late never silently re-splits what you already agreed. Truce nets everything pairwise, so you settle once per person instead of once per dinner.

The day, on the ground

Every stop as a numbered pin in order, with the walking or driving time between them.

Where options come from

Real activities from Viator, and restaurants, bars and sights from Google Places. Nominate straight from here.

Before there are even dates

Start a trip with no dates at all. Ranges get proposed, everyone marks each one available or not, and the grid fills in live.

Everything else it does

Deciding

Time blocks

Deadlines

Nominations live inside a window that closes. Saturday afternoon, Thursday dinner - the shape of the day is what you vote on.

Group polls

Free

Single or multi-select, anonymous if you want, on anything that is not an activity: which flat, whose car, what night.

Dates poll

Doodle-style

Start with no dates at all. Everyone marks what works, the group converges, the trip unlocks.

Vote notes

On the vote

An optional line saying why you voted the way you did, attached to the vote itself - so the reasoning survives without a second chat thread to keep alive.

Doing

Discover

Viator and Google Places

Real activities, restaurants, bars and sights for your destination - not a blank list you have to fill in yourselves.

Plan

One timeline

Winners, manual stops, flights and stays on one shared day-by-day itinerary. Export it as a calendar or a PDF.

Day map

Mapbox

Each day’s stops as numbered pins with the walking or driving time between them.

Trip prep

Shared list

A packing list everyone ticks off individually, plus a private personal list of your own.

Afterwards

Ledger

Net balances

Splitwise-style pairwise netting, custom splits, multi-currency entry, and one settle-up per person instead of twenty.

Recap

Free

When the trip ends, a tap-through of what actually happened - who won the votes, where the money went, how far you walked.

Free

£0

Always

The full planning loop, for everyone in the group.

Pro trip

£9.99

Once, per trip

One payment, one trip, the whole group.

Plus

£3.99

Per month

Personal perks across every trip.

Voting is free and always will be - for everyone in the group, with no trial and no seat count. So is the plan it produces and the ledger that follows it. Paid tiers add depth on top; they never gate the thing the app is for.

You already have four apps for this

See how they line up

A chat to argue in, a poll for the dates, an itinerary app for the plan, and Splitwise at the end. Each is good at its part. It is the joins between them that quietly cost you a volunteer.
